  1. Thanks so much for bringing all these added bonuses and for letting us know about them. The music site is terrific. I am a fan forever.

  2. You’re right, BLOG is a dreadful word, sort of like those floating islands of cattails and reeds blocking my channel into Big Muskego Lake, sometimes even my own little canoe dock. Heavy, they are, too! Soggy. Blllloggy.

But Newsletter sounds much more ~ newsy! Funny, I was just wondering about The Sparrow, the film, the other day. I recall clearly you told me, years ago, such a thing would be!

    Eagerly awaiting ~~~

  3. I am very pleased to have a newsletter that will keep tabs on your terrific work. As to your comment on life with a Dachshund (that must be the German word for stubborn or perhaps manipulative), I would miss the comparison with our own bossy brood.

Good luck with your prospects for the Sparrow – I can envision great things.

  4. What a treat to hear an update of The Sparrow film project. It’s such an obvious choice for a film that I feel that I’ve somehow already seen it on the big screen.

Thanks for the invitation to sign up for your newsletter. It’s been a long time since I’d received my daily dose of Doria (Russell).

Fingers crossed re: contracts and such.

  5. This is great. I’ve been a fan for years; very much looking forward to “Doc” when it is published. Great news about “The Sparrow” movie, too. I read that book and the sequel about twice a year, just for the beautiful prose and story.

Thanks for sharing Mary! Looking forward to reading your newsletter.

  6. Thanks for the updates, Mary.
Exciting news about the new book and about The Sparrow film. Does this mean Brad Pitt is no longer connected – hope so; I just could never see him as Emilio.

  7. “The Germans have Tiger tanks… but these boys have Turandot and courage and history on their side.”
One of my favorite lines in Thread. Thank you for the music links!!!!!!!!

  8. I look forward to following your progress on movies, books, life. You asked for suggestions. One tiny thing. On your home page the cover of your new book covers over some of the text. I’m sure your Web designer can fix that easily.

  9. Hi, Mary!
I am SO looking forward to May and your new book!!! I am needing a Mary Doria Russell fix!! 🙂 And I am keeping you in my prayers for a successful outcome for “The Sparrow” movie! Been waiting a long time for this! Sometimes I see an actor on t.v. and I think “He would be GREAT as Emilio!”!! This is way overdue! 🙂
    Blessings to you and yours!!
